What Contaminants are Reduced in my Water?
This chart shows you which contaminants each filter system is certified to reduce. These Body Glove Systems are all certified by the NSF. Having them all on one chart also allows you to easily compare our Body Glove Water Filter System models.
WHAT IS CHLORAMINE? Water utilities across the country are now starting to use chloramine to treat our drinking water. Chloramine, a combination of chlorine and ammonia, is the cheapest and easiest option available to water utilities. Studies have shown that Chloramine is less effective than chlorine and more dangerous to our health. One thing for certain is that chloramine is more difficult to filter out of drinking water. We recommend that you check your local water information to see if chloramine is used in treating your water, and if so, be sure to choose a filter above that reduces it.
PHARMACEUTICALS IN OUR DRINKING WATER: The BG-12000 system is now certified to reduce these emerging compounds & incidental contaminants in Group 3 of the NSF/ANSI Standard 401: Phenytoin, Naproxen, Estrone, Ibuprofen, Bisphenol A (BPA), and Nonyl phenol. Each of these drugs and chemicals have been commonly found when drinking water is tested. Scientists are currently researching the direct effects of these pharmaceuticals and chemicals. Science is catching up to this instinctive reaction: it’s simply not good for us to be exposed to drugs and manufacturing compounds that are proven disruptors for human hormones and known environmental concerns just by drinking a glass of water.
DO YOU WANT MINERAL REDUCTION? If you want minerals reduced, then you will want a Reverse Osmosis aka an “RO System.” We have a great reverse osmosis water filter system here! It is called the HousePure HP-RO-3000.
